Our Story

It was on January 24th, the day we knew things would finally make sense. No more wondering, if we were exaggerating when we would tell the doctor of our sons peculiar ways and us being told he’ll out grow it, it’s the middle child syndrome. His reaction to noise, to the touch of people, where he would become agitated or uncomfortable. When time was a major issue and would result in a meltdown. When he would become irate when his foods would touch or we would present him with an unfamiliar dish. Not to mention the feel of clothes, socks, shoes, would result in an hour of convincing him to feel the material, “it’s ok son, it’s the same color, you’ve worn this before.” When we would become upset with him because he’s making us late or just being difficult. Were we the only ones?  Or as if we were the only ones seeing our sons reactions to certain situations. What are we doing wrong??

Until that day,  we remember hearing the results from the psychologist, ” Well, mom and dad, your son Kaeden is on the Spectrum.”  Just those words,of us finally getting some answers. After 11 years of wondering. Finally, some answers. He further explained our next steps in order to provide our son with all the support possible and provided us with some clarity.

We knew it wasn’t only us seeing my sons reactions, meltdowns, his anxiety levels rise knowing we would be around others. We finally had some direction. What do we do now? We now, look forward, becoming our sons voice, his biggest supporters, his advocates, he would be receiving the help he needs. Our next steps for him was starting him in therapy, helping him find ways to express himself without becoming emotional, helping him use his voice. This journey has just begun for my family, because together we stand by our son, our Lego master builder, our tech savvy, artistic and creative son, our Kaeden. He will never be alone, he is capable of so much and with gods guidance and grace along with our family, our Kaeden will Amaze You, because he simply One of a Kind.
